PI15457: OSLC DELEGATED UI CREATION DIALOGUE MAY SHOW ERROR MESSAGE PERFORMING ACTION ON CHILD RECORDS

Error description

Under certain conditions, when using an OSLC (Open-Services for
Lifecycle Collaboration) delegated user interface (UI)
creation/linking dialogue box, you may see the
non-blocking error:
'An error occurred while retrieving record data', when
attempting to perform an action on a child record of the parent
loaded in the delegated UI.

For example:
Using IBM Rational Quality Manager (RQM), attempt to link to an
IBM Rational ClearQuest (CQ) Defect, and before saving the
Defect, create a new child Defect.  When clicking on the new
Child defect you will get an error message: 'An error occurred
while retrieving record data'.  This message is non-blocking,
and upon saving, it will commit.

Local fix

Temporary workaround:
Dismiss error message and proceed.  If necessary, validate that
the record was committed.

Problem conclusion

A fix is available in ClearQuest 8.0.0.12 and 8.0.1.5.
ClearQuest Web OSLC has been fixed so delegated UI
creation/linking dialog boxes can now perform an action on the
child record of the parent loaded in the delegated UI.
