  APAR Error Description

  Rational Developer for System z - RDz - client v8.5.1.4 hangs
  for 2 minutes when connection times out or is cancelled during
  edit in LPEX.
  
  Steps to reproduce:
  
  - from RDz client connect to the host
  - Open a member in LPEX editor, modify it but do not save
  - cancel user on the host with operator command
  - RDz client display error message RSEG1057 =? click OK
  - RDz client display message 'Save changes' =? click yes
  - RDz hangs for 2 minutes
  - RDz client display message ''Operation failed. File system
  input or output error''

  Local fix: There is no known workaround at this time.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The RDz client waited the server response about the file
  uploading even when the remote system was disconnected.
  

Problem conclusion

• The RDz client was fixed to check the connection status while
  waiting for the remote system response, and stop waiting for it
  when the system was disconnected.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1.5 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
