Error description

  • The incorrect channel status information is dislayed when the
    Action Queue Manager is one other than the Local Queue Manager.
    For example,
    You logged on to an image in plex (TEST) and ran the following:
    Action  . . . . . . . 1     0. List with filter   4. Manage
                                1. List or Display 5. Perform
                                2. Define like        6. Start
                                3. Alter              7. Stop
                                8. Command
    Object type . . . . . . . . RECEIVER      +
    Name  . . . . . . . . . . . *
    Disposition . . . . . . . . C  Q=Qmgr, C=Copy, P=Private,G=Group
                                   S=Shared, A=All
    Connect name  . . . . . . . CSQ1  - local queue manager or group
    Target queue manager  . . . CSQ1  - connected or remote queue
                                        manager for command input
    Action queue manager  . . . CSQ1  - command scope in group
    Response wait time  . . . . 30    5 - 999 seconds
    ...
    Results in the following: ( CORRECT STATUS displayed )
        Name                  Type          Disposition   Status
    <>  *                     RECEIVER      COPY    CSQ1
        CSQ1TEST.TO.TEST2     RECEIVER      COPY    CSQ1  RUN
    ...........................................................
    You then log on to another LPAR (XXXX) and execute the same for
    CSQ2 using the action queue manager CSQ1.
    Action  . . . . . . . 1     0. List with filter   4. Manage

    .
    The following result is returned: (Incorrect channel status)

        Name                  Type          Disposition   Status
    <>  *                     RECEIVER      COPY    CSQ1
        CSQ1TEST.TO.TEST2     RECEIVER      COPY    CSQ1  INACTIVE
    ..........
    Hitting PF11 on this screen shows the correct status:

    CSQ1TEST.TO.TEST2   Status  RUN

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Active shared channels incorrectly *
    * shown as INACTIVE on 'LIST CHANNELS' *
    * panel CSQOLCA when 'Action queue *
    * manager' is not the same as *
    *                      'Target queue manager'.                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When listing channels, panel CSQOLCA determines the list of
    channels to display, and the associated channel status. If
    'Action queue manager' is used to display channels running on a
    queue manager in the queue sharing group, other than the queue
    manager specified in 'Target queue manager', the command issued
    by the panels only returns the status of non-shared channels on
    that queue manager. As a result when the channels are displayed,
    any shared channels are incorrectly shown as INACTIVE.

Problem conclusion

  • CSQORLST is changed to correctly determine the status of both
    shared and non-shared channels running on the 'Action queue
    manager' when displaying the 'List Channels' panel.
