Error description

  • The RIT GUI fails to respond on some PCs when certain look and
    feel selections are made in the application configuration. An
    error is logged to the JVM console indicating that there is no
    component UI class for a particular type of widget. (This error
    may itself be incorrect.)

Local fix

  • Select a look and feel which does not suffer from this issue,
    such as the Metal look and feel.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * On a very small number of Windows based machines Rational *
    * Integration Tester will not start correctly. The splash *
    * screen does not appear although the task manager will show *
    * the process is running. Connecting to the RIT JVM log via *
    * HTTP will show the following error was logged: *
    *                                                              *
    * "UIDefaults.getUI() failed: no ComponentUI class for: *

    * Changing the product to use a different look and feel (e.g. *
    * Metal) does, in some cases, resolve the problem. *
