Error description

  • Overlay of Kernel SEGENTRY segments yield unpredictable errors.
    One symptom is:
    KERNDUMP caused by abend0C4 on STG instruction at +CC0 into
    DFHKEDOM at base level. R12 is supposed to address a Kernel
    segment. Instead, R12 contains 27A72DAE which points to
    +EAE into the UK96353 level of DFHUEH. At that level, +EAE
    into DFHUEH points just after a 0DEF BASR instruction.
    ADDITIONAL KEYWORDS:DFHKEDOM KCB offset 330 bad address
     field KCB_FIRST_FREE. Segment Segentry overlaid
     HANDLE_SAVEAREA STMG 64 bit registers

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Calling of a GLUE program causes *
    * storage overwrite leading to unexpected *
    *                      behaviour.                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    During the execution of a task an enabled GLUE is linked to.
    While setting up the GLUE environment the registers are saved
    into a save area that is too small. This causes storage to be
    overwritten, dependent on where the overwrite occurs this can
    cause unpredictable results.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHUEH has been changed to increase the size of the register
    save area.
