Error description

• IBM HTTP Server V8.5.5 on z/OS post-update process broken due
  to missing 31-bit version.signature
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED:  Customers running the 31 bit IBM HTTP       *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Post-update processing fails due to     *
  *                      the missing version.signature file.     *
  *                      This causes any new files to not be     *
  *                      copied.                                 *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  The checks to determine if the version.signature file has
  changed fail when running the 31 bit IHS on z/OS because the
  file does not exist in the /.31bit directory.  This causes the
  post-update processing to not complete correctly and any new
  files will not be copied to the r/w install directory.
  

Problem conclusion

• The version.signature file has been added to the /.31bit
  directory and the post-install processing will be
  enhanced to handle a missing version.signature file in the r/w
  install directory.
