Error description

• Abstract:
  
  Attempting to show a table in the database explorer results in
  column type like SMALLINT, TINYINT, INT, BIT, TIME, NUMERIC,
  BIGINT, DECIMAL not to be shown
  
  Error Description:
  
  1. Create a Microsoft SQLServer 2008 table with columns that
  have a type with an i in them. For example, use INT, SMALLINT,
  TINYINT, INT, BIT, TIME, NUMERIC, BIGINT, DECIMAL
  2. Change the regional settings of your Windows 7 to Turkish
  3. Start the product
  4. Connect to the Microsoft SQL Server database with the latest
  sqljdbc4.jar (sqljdbc_4.0.2206.100_enu) from the Microsoft
  website
  5. Open the view Data Source Explorer
  6. Unfold the elements until you reach the table from step 1
  
  Actual Result:
  The types SMALLINT, TINYINT, INT, BIT, TIME, NUMERIC, BIGINT,
  DECIMAL of the columns are not shown
  
  Expected Results:
  All column types are correctly shown
  
  Workaround:
  
  Change the regional settings of your machine from Turkish to,
  for example, English

Problem conclusion

• This is a permanent limitation of the Rational Application
  Developer v8.0 release.  The fix for this APAR is included in
  Rational Application Developer v8.5.5.1.
