    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for z/OS Version 7 *
    *                 Release 0 Modification 1.                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Putting an event message to a remote *
    *                      queue, with intra-group queuing enabled *
    * may result in a 0C4 abend in CSQMPOM. *
    * This results in the intra-group queuing *
    * agent to go into a retry state. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When the intra-group queuing agent attempts to put an event
    message to a remote queue it puts the message into a 64-bit
    buffer. It then calls CSQMPOM to put the message to the
    destination event queue, this does not expect the buffer to be
    in 64-bit storage, resulting in only the lower 4 bytes of the
    address to be used, and an 0C4 abend in CSQMPOM. As the message
    was not successfully put, the IGQ agent goes into a retry state.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

  • CSQMPOM has been updated to correctly handle event messages
    with the message data buffer in 64-bit storage.
