Error description

  • This happens if hex 0F of DBCS is in column 72 of the source.
    Example-
       SET CHK_LIST_ERR_KBN = :.テXᅥ{テOテCニ@ᅠ₩テEテLトdト■トヘᅥeニᆰ.

Local fix

  • Edit the DBCS source. Move it to the left one or more bytes.
The hex 0F, which is the SHIFT-IN, must not be in column 72.

    ****************************************************************
When a DBCS name that is a host variable name in an EXEC SQL
statement ends in column 72, the compiler did not recognize that
it was done with the name, and the compiler would reprocess the
line that contained the host variable name over and over
until the compiler ran out of storage.

Problem conclusion

  • The compiler was changed to recognize the end of DBCS host
variable name even when it ended in column 72.
