Error description

  • Client attempts to start WebSphere Application Server Liberty
Profile (wlp) server that ships with RAA 6.1, but it fails to
    start, returning a message saying:

The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is
    incorrect.

There is nothing logged that appears to indicate what the
    problem is in this case.

Local fix

  • set LOG_FILE =

    and then start wlp server.

Problem summary

  • The LOG_FILE environment variable was set in the user's
environment, but WLP server uses this variable differently.

Problem conclusion

  • RAA's server.bat file was changed to unset the environment
variables that the Liberty profile server uses.

Temporary fix
