Error description

  • IBM Developer for z/OS V16.0 : zUnit - ZUnit imports too many
test entries when many recorded data with mode=FTCH exist and
none of them is matched to a test target program

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ZUnit imports too many test entries when many recorded data with
mode=FTCH exist and none of them is matched to a test target
    program.
In a sequence of recorded data, some data are marked with
mode=FTCH where the recorder is triggered to enable recording.
When ZUnit imports a sequence of recorded data and can not find
out any recorded data makred with mode=FTCH whose recorded
program name is not matched to the test target program name,
ZUnit treats all of recorded data marked with mode=FTCH as test
case boundaries, and ZUnit creates too many test entries on
import. This situation may occur especially for CICS programs.

Problem conclusion

  • ZUnit importer module is changed to check the test target name(
or the entry name) of the first recorded data with mode=FTCH and
to handle recorded data with mode=FTCH, whose target name (or
the entry name) is the same as that of the firstly checked
recorded data with mode=FTCH, as test case boundaries. The new
ZUnit importer module should generate appropriate number of test
     entries.
