PH54117: IBM DEVELOPER FOR Z/OS REMOTE CONNECTION EMULATOR CLEARING COMMAND LINE CONTENTS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IBM Developer for z/OS Remote Connection Emulator is clearing
  command line contents.
  When entering  into TSO OMVS with a UNIX prompt and something
  is entered in the command line, the content of the command line
  is wiped out.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• IN RCE, when a command is entered in OMVS, the status text at
  the bottom right of the screen will show RUNNING. After some
  time elapses (about 10 seconds) the screen updates from RUNNING
  to INPUT.
  
  When the screen update occurs, any text the user has typed in
  the command will be cleared out.
  

Problem conclusion

• In RCE, when a command is entered in OMVS, the status text at
  the bottom right of the screen will show RUNNING. After some
  time elapses (about 10 seconds) the screen updates from RUNNING
  to INPUT.
  
  When the screen update occurs, any text the user has typed in
  the command will be cleared out.
  
  Screen buffering has been implemented so that screen updates are
  paused after a user modifies a field, then screen updates are
  resumed (and played back) after a submit (or attention
  identifier) action. This causes the user's input to no longer be
  cleared out on the OMVS page after a user enters a command
  immediately following another command.
