APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When we try to export the FTS resultset to an excel spreadsheet,
    it exports the resultset to null filename. This file won't be
    usable until it is renamed to a meaningful name with xlsx
    (microsoft excel) extension.
    
    Steps to reproduce the issue are mentioned below:
    1. Perform a Full text Search (FTS)
    2. On the right-top corner of cqweb, click on option 'Export to
    an Excel Spreadsheet'
    3. This creates a file name 'null' which cannot be opened
    4. If we rename the null file to something like fts-result.xlsx
    , which can then be opened in MS Excel
    5. This issue is not specific to any record type, all FTS
    resultsets exported will result into a null file
    6. This issue does not occur when you export resultset of an
    existing query, whether it is a public query or personal query
    7. This issue does not occur if you export FTS resultset to a
    text file (FTS resultset > Export to a text file), as this
    creates a proper searchresult.txt file as expected
    7. CQ versions tested:
    >> For 9.0.1 version: starting from 9.0.1.9 through latest fix
    pack 9.0.1.14
    >> For 9.0.2 version: Starting from 9.0.2.1 through latest fix
    pack 9.0.2.4
    >> For 9.1.0 version: All versions 9.1.0.0 through 9.1.0.3
    (never worked on 9.1.x)
    

Local fix

  • Rename the null file to a meaningful name, say
    search-result.xlsx. Then the file can be opened in MS Excel
    sheet

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearQuest 9.0.2.7 and 9.1.0.4.
    In ClearQuest Web, when trying to export the FTS resultset to an
    Excel spreadsheet, it exports the resultset to
    SearchResult.xlsx.
