Error description
If you have ClearQuest and ClearCase installed in the same machine and if you try to go to ClearQuest 9.0.1.13-Ifix01, it will break any Oracle connections with ClearQuest. This is the same situation if you try to update ClearQuest alone in a system to version 9.0.1.13 (Eg.: From CQ 9.0.1.10 to CQ 9.0.1.13). The update is successful but during the update to 9.0.1.13, some files are removed. You will see messages like this when using ClearQuest clients: CRMDB0000E SQLDriverConnect: RETCODE=-1, State=S1000, Native Error=2733 [IBM Rational DataDirect][ODBC Oracle Wire Protocol driver] Unable to dynamically load client DLL C:\IBM\RationalSDLC\Common\odbc\rkssl28.DLL - An error occurred while logging in - We were unable to connect to the schema repository to get the list of user database. Please contact your ClearQuest administrator for assistance. - CRMUT0028E A fatal error occurred while getting the list of user databases from the schema repository. The error can vary a little, depending the "Connect Options" string used. But the error clearly states the "rkssl28.dll" is missing. This problem affects ClearQuest 9.0.1.13 installed on Windows, when you use Oracle as a database vendor, and when using Oracle Service_Name. In this case, the problem affects all ClearQuest clients. If you use ClearQuest 9.0.1.13 on Windows and with Oracle, but if you connect the database using an Oracle SID, you don't have the problem. Also, this problem does not impact MSSQL and DB2 used by ClearQuest 9.0.1.13 on Windows Platforms. And also it doesn't exist if you update to ClearQuest 9.0.1.13 on Linux Platforms (Oracle, MSSQL and DB2 works correctly).

Problem conclusion
A fix is available in ClearQuest 9.0.1.14, 9.0.2.6 and 9.1.0.3. The ODBC driver files are no longer removed when upgrading to ClearQuest 9.0.1.13. Contact customer support if you need help restoring lost driver files.
