Error description
The abend ABN=5C6-00C51165,S=00000C17,C=MQ900.920.CFM -CSQERUSH,M=CSQGFRCV,LOC=CSQELPLM.CSQERUSH happened in a DR exercise. The ++APAR of PH39578 was applied but the admin structure was still getting full, generating the above abend. The dump shows a large number of eUOWd blocks (with correct size having the fix of PH39578) in 'insure_commit' state. Several of these are for the same task, which is one that cannot have multiple units of work in progress concurrently - there should only be a single uowd for a given task representing the state of the current UOW. Further analysis shows that in some situations, when rebuilding a peer's admin structure data an eUOWd is being incorrectly added to the admin structure for older UOWs that have finished commit processing, and it is the large number of these unnecessary eUOWd's that is filling the admin structure. This is a separate problem to PH39578 (although that error would have exaggerated the effect of this error), and is only applicable to V920. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / SYMPTOMS : ABN=5C6-00C5102C,LOC=CSQELPLM.CSQESIMU+000005BE CSQESIMU 00C5102C NB : After PTF application, if MQ restart is attempted and does not initialize it may also be necessary to fail the ADMIN structure by issuing SETXCF FORCE,STR,STRNAME=admin_struct_name Doing so allows MQ to rebuild its contents once more from the logs as the subsequent restart completes

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM MQ for z/OS Version 9 * * Release 2 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend 5C6-00C51165 in CSQELPLM.CSQERUSH * * occurs during queue manager startup * * when rebuilding admin structure data * * for a peer queue manager, due to the * * admin structure filling. * * * * Following the abend, queue manager * * startup is terminated and the queue * * manager ends abnormally 6C6. * **************************************************************** During Peer Admin rebuild processing the queue manager reads the peer queue manager's logs and builds a representation of any units of work involving shared queue activity, which is subsequently used to recreate the expected eUOW entries in the admin structure. An error in this processing can cause unexpected eUOWs to be added to the admin structure for completed units of work, potentially filling the admin structure and leading to the reported abend and abnormal queue manager termination.
Problem conclusion
CSQILPRC has been changed to correctly identify completed units of work for which no eUOW is needed.
