Local fix
Problem summary
When multiple lines are selected in the COBOL or PL/I editor, using Tab or Shift-Tab to perform a Shift Right or Shift Left operation will always try to preserve the positioning of text to the left of Margin A. This is not always the desired behavior however, and there is no way to toggle this aspect of multi-line shift left/right on or off.
Problem conclusion
When multiple lines are selected in the COBOL or PL/I Editor, and a shift-right or shift-left operation is triggered, for example using the Tab or Shift-Tab key combinations (regardless of text selection mode: If the "Manage Sequence Numbers" preference is enabled, the positioning of the text left of Margin A on multi-line shift right/left operations is preserved. If the "Manage Sequence Numbers" preference is disabled, the positioning of the text left of Margin A on multi-line shift right/left operations is not preserved.
