APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz) v14.2.3.0 after a user
Dependency
Based Build (DBB) when the user saves the DBB log containing
DBCS characters into a file on the local machine, the DBCS
characters are not displayed correctly.

The same issue can be reproduced with IDz client v14.2.3.2.

Local fix

  • Use the DBB build log on the remote system.

Problem summary

  • DBB user build log with DBCS characters is not saved correctly
to the local machine.  The code page conversion needs to use the
 host file's encoding

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been updated to make use of the host file's encoding
when saving the build log
