PH32885: ABN=0C4 =CSQ3REPL.CSQ3RRSM S0C4 ABEND

APAR status

Error description

• Client received a SOC4 ABEND in mod CSQ3RRSM, this is a timing
  issue when an ASID is going through termination
  processing at the same time as a new connection is performing
  an RRS attach to the same address space.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend 0C4 occurs in CSQ3RRSM,           *
  *                      accompanied by error message            *
  *                      CSQ3009E when using DB2 stored          *
  *                      procedures linked with CSQBSTUB.        *
  ****************************************************************
  MQ's RRS exit CSQ3RRSX was invoked (e.g for PREPARE) by
  DB2 acting as an SDSRM, and called CSQ3RRSM. This located an
  existing ASCE for the DB2 WLM managed stored procedure address
  space, and began establishing the necessary environment to
  process the indicated function.
  
  At the same time a running stored procedure issued MQDISC, and
  as it was the last task in the address space with an active
  connection to the queue manager, this cleaned up MQ resources
  associated with the connection, including the ASCE.
  
  This resulted in the reported abend 0C4 when CSQ3RRSM attempted
  to reference a field in the now freed ASCE.
  

Problem conclusion

• The queue manager will now defer cleaning up the ASCE for a DB2
  WLM managed stored procedure address space until the address
  space terminates, preventing the ASCE being freed while still
  in use by the RRS exits.
