APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Open z/OS Projects
New->Other->Examples->Workstation COBOL->COBOL Sample 1
Input 'Sample1' in Project name and push Finish button
Select PrintApp.cbl and select Properties in pop-up menu
Check Read-only and push OK button
Select PrintApp.cbl and select Properties in pop-up menu
Read-only still checked,  push OK
Double click PrintApp.cbl
Close PrintApp.cbl
Select PrintApp.cbl and select Properties in pop-up menu
Read-only is unchecked --> THIS IS THE PROBLEM. SHOUD STAY
CHECKED

Same happens with
Window->Perspective->Open Perspective->Other->Resource
New->Project->General->Project
->new->Folder
->New->File (even empty)
After opening the file (even empty), then closing without
any update, Read-only is unchecked.

occurs in IDz
Does not occur in IBM Explorer for z/OS, nor standalone
Eclipse.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • On editor close, all files being incorrectly set to read-only in
 an attempt to fix a server side edge case.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • No longer setting local files to read only on editor close.
