  • IBM Developer for z Systems - IDz - v14.2.3
Wrong Expanded Source result with REPLACING statements.

Steps to reproduce:
- Add 10 '&-'K-XXXXXXXX-BLANK PIC X(08) VALUE 'XXXXXXX ' in the
copybook.
- Add COPY XXX REPLACING '&-' BY ==RSPARG-== in Cobol program.
- Using Show Expanded Source will causing  'XXXXXXX ' breaks
into another line with an additional blank.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • There is a problem with show expanded source when we try to
place strings within quotation marks to a new line. The current
expanded source splits the words within a quoted string and that
 results in an error "Illegal String literal continuation."

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This issue has been resolved.
