PH26216: IDZ 14.1 CICS SM PERSPECTIVE, CREATE DEBUG CONFIGURATION NOT WORKING

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IBM Developer for Z/OS - IDz - v14.1 only
  
  Using IDz 14.1 CICS SM perspective while connected to a CICS
  region, the user can select the Programs view to see all the
  programs defined to that region.
  If the user right-click a program, select Debug, then click
  Create Debug Configuration, nothing happens. The expected
  window with the Debug Configuration does not show up, and no
  error message is presented.
  

Local fix

• Right-click the program, select Debug, Debug Configurations,
  then manually create a new configuration for the desired
  program, by specifying the transaction and other details.
  
  Another option is to upgrade IDz to version 14.2.2, which is
  not affected by this issue.

Problem conclusion

• The create CICS debug profile action was updated to correctly
  check for an IDz license and create the profile.
  
  This issue is fixed in version 14.1.11 in the following
  products:
  IBM Developer for z Systems
  IBM Developer for z Systems Enterprise Edition
  

Temporary fix

• Use the z/OS Debugger Profiles view to create CICS debug
  profiles.
