PH25233: Z/OS DEBUGGER PROFILES VIEW, REGION FIELD VALIDATION DOES NOT WORK FOR IDZ USER INTERFACE USING LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH

Error description

• IBM Developer for Z/OS - IDz
  
  While using IDz with the user interface in a language other
  than English, on the Debug perspective, z/OS Debugger Profiles
  view, if the user tries to create a CICS debug profile, the
  Region field is required and shows a drop-down list with the
  CICS regions defined on the host.
  
  After selecting the desired CICS on the Region field, and
  filling the profile name, if the user tries to save and
  activate the profile, the error message CRRDG9103E is presented
  saying "A CICS region must be specified". The message is
  presented using the language specified for the user interface.
  
  In this case, the validation for required fields is considering
  the Region field is still missing a value, even though it is
  populated, and this only happens when the IDz user interface
  is in a language other than English.
  

Local fix

• As a workaround, the user can create the profile using the CICS
  transaction DTCN. Or change the IDz user interface to English.

Problem conclusion

• When creating or editor CICS debug profiles with the Debug
  Profile Editor, the region was not saved which resulted in
  failed activation.
  
  This issue is fixed in v14.2.3 of the following products:
  IBM Debug for z/OS
  IBM Developer for z/OS
  IBM Developer for z/OS Enterprise Edition
