APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz) v14.1.7, some SCLM controlled
members can be modified from the Remote Systems or the z/OS
Projects view, even though the same members from ISPF cannot be
edited. These members do not have an associated SCLM project
definition within the scope of the member's associated high
level qualifier (HLQ) data set (no <HLQ>.PROJDEFS.LOAD for the
member).

Problem summary


    

  • SCLM ownership of file was only checked for HLQ with
PROJDEFS.LOAD indicating SCLM control of HLQ on dataset.
SCLM ownership is per member, and can exist outside of the
origin HLQ for instance by SCLM promote or by copy.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • SCLM ownership must be checked per call on a member, and
disregard PROJDEFS.LOAD existence as a proof point for needing
to check for SCLM control of the member.
