PH24829: INCORRECT RESULTS FOR FUNCTION INTEGER-OF-DATE WHEN STGOPT COMPILER OPTION IS USED FOR AMODE(64)

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The FUNCTION INTEGER-OF-DATE may return incorrect results when
  the STGOPT compiler option is used for AMODE(64) programs
  (programs compiled with the LP(64) compiler option).
  
  This APAR corrects the compiler piece of the problem and has a
  direct dependency on runtime APAR PH22989.
  

Local fix

• Compile with NOSTGOPT.

  Invalid memory is inadvertently accessed due to the compiler
  generating erroneous code to call COBOL Runtime routines for
  the INTEGER-OF-DATE and INTEGER-OF-DAYS intrinsic functions
  while the LP(64) compiler option is in effect.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was fixed to generate correct code.  User programs
  must be run with the COBOL Runtime LE APAR PH22989 installed.
