APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ABENDS0C4 in DSNB1IOR at level UI60009 OFFSET1DF8 on a MVCL
  instruction. The abend occurs because R14 has a low value
  x'00001200' pointing to low core. This code was in the
  recovery routine that invalidly called a routine that it
  should not have (to release 1M storage with PGFIX=NO).

  ABEND0C4-00000004 may occur in the recovery routine DSNB1IOR
  for an agent that abended or was canceled while performing a
  read or write I/O using an encryption buffer in the buffer
  pool that uses 1MB size page frames.
  This is due to Db2 attempting to unfix the encryption buffer
  with invalid page unfix logic during the abort processing.
  Because this was during abort processing, the ABEND0C4-00000004
  could cause Db2 subsystem termination.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Db2 page unfix logic for buffers in 1M frames was fixed in
  the I/O recovery routine.
