    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The MQ IMS adapter does not support IMS *
    *                      applications running in a 64bit java    *
    *                      environment/jvm.                        *
    ****************************************************************
    The MQ IMS adapter does not support IMS applications running in
    a 64bit java environment/jvm. Consequently if such an IMS
    application is running the MQ java code does not detect it is in
    IMS and assumes it is in a batch environment,and loads the
    batch adapter rather than the IMS adapter.
    Consequently all the functionality provided by the IMS adapter
    is not available to the application, leading to failures if such
    functionality is requested.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ IMS adapter is updated to add support for IMS
    applications running in a 64bit java environment/jvm.

    This APAR delivers the fix to the MQ base component. For
    complete functionality it is necessary to also install the fix
    for APAR PH26041 for the java component.

    If PH26041 is applied but not its PREREQ PH22258 and a 64 bit
    JVM is used to run an MQ JMS application the associated JMP/JBP
    region may fail with a user ABEND 0101 and message CEE3501S
    'The module CSQQLB2 was not found' may be issued.

    Similar symptoms could result if an MQ JMS application running
    in a 64 bit JVM on a QMGR using the V9.1.0.7 java libraries,
    which consequently has PH26041 and its PREREQ PH22258 applied,
    connects to a QMGR running a lower level of the java libraries
    that does not include PH26041 and PH22258.
