APAR status

Error description

• UNLOAD utility abends04e rc00e2002f when using STRIP TRAILING on
  a column that contains blank string.
  An overlay happens in this situation, result is unpredicated.
  

Local fix

• BYPASS/CIRCUMVENTION:
  For a workaround user can remove the strip trailing or leave the
  column as a char field.

  User ran an UNLOAD TABLESPACE NOPAD FROM TABLE with a field
  specification of VARCHAR STRIP TRAILING.  The VARCHAR column
  contained all blanks.  The STRIP TRAILING operation stripped
  all blanks resulting in a 0 length column.  The length of 0 was
  then used to try and move the field causing an overlay which
  resulted in the ABEND04E RC00E2002F DSNSVSFM +x'00838'.
  The same problem can occur for VARGRAPHIC fields.
  

Problem conclusion

• UNLOAD code has been modified to check for a zero length field
  following the STRIP TRAILING function.
