PH20831: BSDS, ACTIVE LOG AND ARCHIVE LOG PREFIX ISSUE IN DSNTINST

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When customer runs dsntinst for tailoring second db2
  installation jobs without exit DSNTINST, PANEL DSNTIPH
  will display the BSDS, Active Log and archive log data set
  names with the prefix of VCATALOG value, instead of from
  the correspondent fields from the original input member(from
  previoud version).
  This was reported in non data sharing running dsntinst in
  migrate mode.
  

Local fix

• Exit the dsntinst completely, then rerun it for the second
  member

  * are not maintained and displayed                             *
  * on panel DSNTIPH. They are replaced                          *
  * instead by names starting with the                           *
  * setting of the CATALOG ALIAS on panel                        *
  * DSNTIPA2 (VCATALOG input parameter).                         *

  When a user completes an install or migrate CLIST session,
  and without exiting from the CLIST, starts another migrate
  CLIST session for a stand-alone Db2 subsystem, the migration
  input names for the bootstrap, active log, and archive log
  data sets, as specified in the input parameter member (INPUT
  MEMBER NAME field on panel DSNTIPA1), are not maintained
  and displayed on panel DSNTIPH. They are replaced instead by
  names starting with the setting of the CATALOG ALIAS on panel
  DSNTIPA2 (VCATALOG input parameter). These names are replaced
  because the variable VBSDSLGS, which is used by the
  CLIST DSNTINST to decide whether these names are replaced
  or not, still retains data from a previous CLIST session,
  as this variable is not reset when a new CLIST session starts.
  

Problem conclusion

• In response, this APAR modifies DSNTINST so that VBSDSLGS
  is reset before the CLIST reads the input parameter member
  (INPUT MEMBER NAME) specified on panel DSNTIPA1.
