  • There is a small window in DSNXEDSC when the job timed out
with ABEND322, Db2 issued ABEND0C4 RC00000004 DSNXEUFP
OFFSET0119A during deallocation and then Db2 crashed with
S04F.

There is a small timing window during the SQL PREPARE request
where we copy information into the running thread
from the cached sql statement.  If this copy process is
cancelled before it completes, Db2 abends during thread
deallocation because the section is in an inconsistent state.

Problem conclusion

  • The process to copy cached info into the running thread is
changed to be atomic to ensure consistency.
