ABEND 0C4-00000038 may occur in DSNIDM .DSNB1AEX OFFSET00202
when a cancel occurs in Media Manager during a synchronous
write I/O. This is because an invalid 64-bit MMRE pointer was
used for the started MMRB chain in Db2's buffer manager I/O
recovery routine. It eventually resulted in the abend
    mentioned above.

Problem conclusion

  • Db2 code has been modified to use the correct MMRE pointer when
a cancel hits in Media Manager during a synchronous write I/O.
