Error description

  • IBM Developer for z systems 14.1.7

In a BIDI environment the Show Expanded Source in LPEX Editor
does not correctly work with the CP1255 local encoding.
The characters are unreadable and go way beyond column 72.
That makes a lot of syntax errors.

Local fix

  • As workaround use UTF-8 local encoding.

Problem summary

  • See error description.

Problem conclusion

  • Use the correct (taken from preferences) code page for file
    loading.
