    *                       DSNXEDS1 . DSNSVSVB + 0B06             *

    There are 2 problem scenarios.
    
    1. IFI READS for IFCID 401 returns a snapshot of statistics for
    static SQL currently in the EDM pool.  If the user's buffer is
    not large enough to hold all the data to be returned, IFI READS
    will issue return code 4 in IFCARC1 and reason code '00E60802'x
    in IFCARC2.  When this situation occurs, some statistics blocks
    can be leaked in the STMT CACHE BLOCKS 2G pool .
    
    2. When IFCID 400 is active and a static SQL statement is
    issued, a statistics block is allocated when the statement
    is added to the EDM pool.  If a cancel occurs after the
    statistics block is allocted, but before addressability to
    the block is established, this storage can be leaked in
    the STMT CACHE BLOCKS 2G pool.
    
    NOTE: Accelerated static queries are also affected.
    

Problem conclusion

  • For the problems listed in the Problem Description
    section, Db2 is modified to:
    
    1. For IFI READS of IFCID 401, Db2 will now process
    the entire list of static SQL statements regardless
    if the user's output buffer is full, to ensure all SHTEs
    are cleaned up properly.
    
    2. Modify statistics block allocation to close the cancel
    window between allocation and setting addressability
    for downstream components.
