APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IBM Developer for z systems (IDz) v14.1.7 COBOL editor, using
Refactor > Rename (or ALT+Shift+R) to rename a variable name
with one character will result in the following error message:

"Failed to locate a node for the given text selection"

No errors are recorded in the error log file and the variable
does not get renamed.

  • There was a problem in the  rename action when variable has one
character long. This issue is now fixed.
