Error description

  • 1. Open IDz and connect to host (from Remote Systems Explorer
    perspective)
    2. Right click a dataset (e.g. SYS1.HELP) that contains more
than 50 members. It appears that the key factor here is that
the (right click) properties for the dataset Mapping::Extension
has (undefined) for Inherit from system mapping
    3. Select FIND MEMBER option, enter member name, press ENTER,
then OK in FIND MEMBER results window. The member list is
    positioned at the requested member.
    4. Double-click to open member. At this point, we can see an
extension being assigned to the member (.asm in this case). The
member is opened in the editor, but the member list is refreshed
    and repositioned at the top.
    5. From this point, if we close the editor and FIND MEMBER again
for the same member as in #3 above, the member list is
positioned at the requested member with the newly-assigned
extension (.mac or .asm). Subsequent opens/closes of the
member, or using Properties to change the extension don't seem
to affect the member list it remains positioned at the desired
member. However, anytime the extension is removed and the
member re-opened, the member list is again repositioned at the
    top.

In short, it appears that anytime we open a member that is not
assigned an extension (Inherit from system mapping is
(undefined)), the member list is refreshed/repositioned at top.

FYI: apar PH08478 describes a similar problem, but that fix was
*not* regressed. PH08478 applies to libraries with an existing
mapping. The repositioning that occurred there has been fixed
by PH08478 (and v14.1.6). This new APAR applies to unmapped
    libraries.
