Error description

  • Growth of DBM1 MVS 31 BIT HIGH PRIVATE, for scenarios where
there is insert / update / delete and RLF / RLST used.

    Additional Symptoms:

Local fix

  • If customer only has RLST table, then creating an empty RLMT
table with the same ID as the RLST table will help workaround
    the problem.

    ****************************************************************
After RLF is started with only either the RLST or the RLMT
table (not both), an INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE on a created
temporary table may invoke unnecessary internal refresh of
the in-memory RLF table. This refresh process runs on
on a Db2 system thread and too many of them can cause the
    storage growth.

Problem conclusion

  • Db2 code has been changed to invoke the refresh process of
the in-memory RLF table correctly. Only when the based RLST
or RLMT table is updated, the auto refresh of in-memory RLF
    table is started.
