Error description
When compiler parameters/options are passed using the EXEC statement PARM= parameter, there's a JCL enforced limit of 100 characters. Using the PARMDD= JCL parameter, it's possible to pass the compiler up to 32K characters of options. In the latter case, the compiler correctly parses the options, but fails to list them all in the "Invocation parameters" report.
Local fix
Use the OPTFILE option in the PARM= and supply the parameters in the SYSOPTF DD.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the Enterprise COBOL V6.2 Compiler * * that make use of the PARMDD statement in * * the JCL that invokes the compiler. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect output: Some of the compiler * * options contained in the data set * * pointed to by PARMDD, appear to be * * missing in the Invocation parameters: * * section of the compiler listing. This * * does not prevent these options from * * being processed successfully by the * * compiler. Only the listing is * * incorrect. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the IBM provided PTF. * **************************************************************** This problem in the compiler listing was caused by an insufficient buffer size in the compiler. The list of options specified in the PARMDD data set was truncated before it was written to the Invocation parameters: section of the listing.
Problem conclusion
The compiler was updated to use a buffer of sufficient size so that all options specified in the PARMDD data set get listed in the Invocation parameters: section of the compiler listing.
Temporary fix
