Error description

  • Following a disaster/recovery test the queue-manager failed to

              available.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Registration with RRS during queue *
    * manager start up failed due to RRS not *
    * having finished deregistering the *
    * previous instance of the queue manager. *
    *                                                              *
    * This resulted in a loop of the message *
    * CSQ5026E in the queue manager logs. *
    ****************************************************************
RRS took longer than expected to deregister a previous instance
of the queue manager that has been shut down. Thus when starting
the same queue manager the CRGGRM call to register the queue
manager with RRS fails with the return code 700
    (CRG_RM_NAME_REGISTERED).

The queue manager then treats RRS as unavailable which prevents
MQ from connecting to DB2 and results in multiple instances of
the message CSQ5026E in the queue manager logs.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been added to handle the case where the CRGGRM fails
for CRG_RM_NAME_REGISTERED and RRS will no longer be treated as
unavailable so that MQ can successfully connect to DB2. After
this time processing will continue, however RRS functionality
such as use of the RRS adapter will be unavailable until the
    queue manager has been restarted.

Additionally the message CSQ3017I will be issued to indicate
that the queue manager has failed to register with RRS during
    start up.
