APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ABEND 04E-RC00E40357 in DSNURSCN + 1D5A4 during REORG
  after the ALTER to drop the column.  The table is created/loaded
  and then dropped.  Later the table is created again on that
  tablespace and then is altered to drop the column.
  When REORG ran against it, the above abend was obtained.

  A REORG TABLESPACE SHRLEVEL CHANGE was run to materialize both
  a table space ALTER MAXPARTITIONS to a PBG and a table ALTER to
  drop a column.  The table space had dropped tables.  The REORG
  abended with ABEND04E RC00E40347 and RC00E40357 in
  DSNURSCN x'1D5A4'.  The problem was due to REORG using a
  pointer from a dropped table.
  
  The same problem can occur for a REORG SHRLEVEL REFERENCE.
  

Problem conclusion

• REORG code has been modified to skip dropped tables when
  initializing pointers for pending column materialization.
