APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IBM Developer for System z 14.1.4 menu manager action
$saveandclosefilebefore unlocks member after execution.

When using menu manager action $saveandclosefilebefore from the
PLI editor, the member is actually closed/unlocked after the
execution of the REXX/CLIST.
The REXX/CLIST will fail if it needs to lock the member too.
Customer is using it to commit changes into SCLM and locking is
required but fails.

To reproduce:
1- Create a menu manager File action using:
action=com.ibm.ftt.ui.menumanager.tsoaction
command=$saveandclosefilebefore exec
'GAUNEA2.LABS.SRC.REXX(HELLO)'
2- Open a pli member in the PLI editor
3- modify it but do not save it
4- right-click and select the menu manager action
5- in rsecomm log, observes that the member is unlocked after
the execution of the REXX.

  • The Menu Manager action is being invoked without first waiting
to confirm that the resource lock has been released.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Menu Manager code has been changed to ensure that the resource
lock is released prior to invoking the command.
