APAR status

Error description

  • IBM Developer for z systems 14.1.5

When the ISPF EDIT Macro action will generate the work data set
name, the ISPF Edit Macro fails to update the editor content.
FELEDTMC EXEC ended with RC 0 but the client receives an
ERROR popup stating:
"The Edit Macro action generated an error during execution.
Failure updating the editor contents <member name> "

Example of the Menu Manager Edit Macro command:
EDIT !.! + STATS ! USID1.SFELSAMP(FELEDTMC) !
EDIT.MACRO.REXX(TEST)

Local fix

  • In the command, specify which data set used as the work data
set.

Problem summary

  • When auto-generated temporary dataset are specified, the IDz
Edit Macro function fails to correctly pick up the name of the
generated temporary dataset.

Problem conclusion

  • The IDz Edit Macro function has been updated to correctly pick
up the name of the generated temporary dataset
