PH06754: POSSIBLE INCORRECT DATA IN IFCID 3 QTXA SECTION FOR FIELDS ADDEDBY PI93817

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The QTXA section is used in both IFCID2 and IFCID3.
  PI93817 added a number of fields to the QTXA section. However,
  they are only populated for IFCID2. These newly added fields
  should be ignored in IFCID 3 and should all be zero.
  However, in some cases the QTXA section in IFCID3 is not
  initialized properly before usage, making that it is possible
  for these fields to contain some residual (garbage) info.

  The QTXA macro was expanded when IRLM secondary latch
  contention counters were enhanced. This macro is shared by both
  IFCID002 and IFCID003, but the new fields are currently only
  applicable to IFCID 2. IFCID 3 processing did not clear out the
  unused fields resulting in dirty data in section 5.
  

Problem conclusion

• Db2 has been modified to initialize the new fields in QTXA for
  IFCID3 so that only zeros will display.
