  • In the specific case leading to the APAR, the incorrect
    inference leads to the use of a constant as the source of a
    move, rather than the value of the actual source variable. There
    may be other variations.

    An incorrect value was being propagated when a data-item
    computed inside two different PERFORM statements for the same
    section was stored to two different variables and then the two
    stored data-items were compared.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Compiler was updated to avoid incorrect behaviour.
