Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All Db2 12 for z/OS users of Db2 * * precompiler and coprocessor. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * Insufficient information is provided * * to end users of precompiler or * * coprocessor about the SQLLEVEL used * * during precompiling of the application * * when the SQLLEVEL option comes from * * DECPSQLL, but it is not a value that * * precompiler or coprocessor * * understands. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * * Apply corrective PTF when available * **************************************************************** When the SQLLEVEL option comes from DECPSQLL and DECPSQLL is not a value that precompiler or coprocessor understands, precompiler silently assumes a default of V12R1M500 for SQLLEVEL, which is the default value for DECPSQLL. For example, If SQLLEVEL option is not specified in an application, and DECPSQLL is V12R1M599(not a valid value in current Db2 system), precompiler silently uses default SQLLEVEL V12R1M500 for precompile. New message DSNH4765I will be issued by precompiler after this APAR is applied. For example: DSNH4765I W DSNHOPTS SQL PROCESSING LEVEL VALUE IN DSNHDECP V12R1M599 IS INVALID. V12R1M500 IS USED INSTEAD. This APAR also fixes problems as below: 1. If user specifies NEWFUN(V12) without SQLLEVEL options, Db2 precompiler doesn't always use the default V12R1M500 to compile the application. 2. A comma is missed in Db2 coprocessor application listing of SQL processing options.
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Comments
Db2 code is modified so that DSNH4765I message is issued to clearly indicate the SQLLEVEL used in precompile when invalid DECPSQLL exists. Additional Keywords: DB2COPROCESSOR DB2PRECOMPILER DB2SQLLEVEL DB2NEWFUN MSGDSNH4765I
