Error description

• In a data sharing environment with only one V11 member active
  and after this member is migrated to V12, the statement
  CATMAINT UPDATE LEVEL V12R1M503 incurs return code=8.

  This problem is not limited to CATMAINT UPDATE LEVEL V12R1M503.
  The problem can occur on any CATMAINT UPDATE LEVEL xxxxxx
  statement as long as the member executing the CATMAINT UPDATE
  LEVEL xxxxxx is the only member active in the data sharing
  group.

  The DSNTIJTC CATMAINT job can fail in a data sharing
  environment if all but the migrating member of a group are
  down. DSNTIJTC fails with a RC8 in this case with no
  other diagnostic information in the job output or on the
  console.
  
  This problem is storage dependent. As such, not every
  Db2 12 data sharing migration where the migrating member
  is the only active group member will be impacted.
  

Problem conclusion

• Db2 code has been changed to correct the problem. If CATMAINT
  fails as described during migration processing, the problem
  can be circumvented by starting a single Db2 11 member.
  
  This is a data sharing only issue. Non-data sharing migrations
  are not affected by this issue.
