  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Provides a mechanism to fail-fast when  *
  *                      there is stack corruption or changes    *
  *                      to the return address value on the      *
  *                      stack through buffer overflow.          *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Compile with the STACKPROTECT option if      *
  *                 automatic buffer overflow protection is      *
  *                 needed for stack based buffers. Note that    *
  *                 this does decrease performance due to the    *
  *                 extra checks needed so it is off by          *
  *                 default.                                     *
