    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    This problem occurs when multiple target hardware entries share
    the same HMC connection. When initializing a target system
    connection, a check is made if another target hardware using the
    same HMC IP address has already defined a non-default IP stack.
    This check fails if that target hardware used for the check has
    not yet at least one target system initialized and the common
    global variable of the target hardware in process holding the
    non-default IP stack value is erroneously blanked out.

Problem conclusion

  • Enhance the checks made to correctly align the non-default IP
    stack information:

    1. Skip the check if other target systems are already
       initialized for the target hardware in process.

    2. Verify that the target hardware entry used for checking has
       at least one target system connection - only then, the
       non-default IP stack value retrieved for that target hardware
       (value can be blank) is reliable.
