• The INSTALL and UNINSTALL dates in the PRODUCT_INSTALL table
  are incorrectly updated at the product level.

  For a given product within a system, the installation date
  of versions or features of a product is derived from the
  discovery date of the dataset that contains the product.
  
  This installation date becomes incorrect if the discovery date
  of the dataset does not match the installation date of the
  product.
  
  This can occur for the following:
  1. upgrades to products occur in the same dataset
  2. additional products are added to the same dataset
  

Problem conclusion

• In order to determine the installation dates of versions or
  features for products within a system, the discovery dates
  of products in datasets are now used.
  
  Discovery dates of products are however influenced by discovery
  dates of identically named datasets (identical in name and
  volume) which reside on different systems.
  These named datasets are assumed to have similar product
  contents when they are placed in the same repository.
