APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • OMEGAMON address spaces take various abends during
initialization and terminate immediately.

Abends experienced include S53E and S202, although others are
possible.

The problem is due to a Persistent DataStore facility storage
overlay occuring during PDS initialization.

Local fix

  • Scratch and reallocate the Persistent DataStore files (PDSs).
Additional Symptoms: Massive overlay (on the order of 127 Meg)
of x'CFCFCFCF' until something is overlaid that causes an
ABEND.  The location of the ABEND is unpredictable.
