Error description

  • Environment:
    Include components involved, platforms with versions/patches
    for each. z/OS ITM  6.10.07.03
      Do you think the latest patch applied is involved? No

    Problem Description (example):

     Policy B + Situation B linked to OMEGAMON XE for DB2 on z/OS
    agent.
     From the console.png screenshot you can see that DB2 named
    situations are fired,
     but SNMP traps are sent in "packets": some traps sent, then
    some not (can't figure out the rule, yet)

      Detailed Recreation Procedure:

    For example, error:

    2009.126 14:14:11.85
    (0295-DD25770B:ko4acagt.cpp,1080,"GenAgtActivity::formatResults"
    ) Error: Parsing failed for result
    <DP_SY_EXC.SYS_SFAC=0;DP_SY_EXC.SYS_UFAC=0;DP_SY_EXC.SYS_STPE=0;
    DP_SY_EXC.SYS_TRGE=0;DP_SY_EXC.SYS_UDFE=0;DP_SY_EXC.SYS_ARCN=;DP
    _SY_EXC.SYS_ARDEV=;DP_SY_EXC.SYS_ARVOL=;DP_SY_EXC.BMGRCRO=488;DP
    _SY_EXC.SYS_TMAX=16;...

    There are attributes above which contains "empty" values.
    i.e. there is nothing between the equal sign and the terminating
    semi-colon.
    Most likely, the agent is returning NULL-terminated strings.

    This format error terminates the parsing and was found before
    any attributes that the user had substitued into the emitter
    request had been found. Consequently, when it comes time to
    build the request and concatenate the requested attribute values
    to the predicate, all we get is the predicate, for example:

    2009.126 14:14:11.86
    (02B6-DD25770B:ko4acagt.cpp,1419,"GenAgtActivity::buildParmList"
    ) Value(s) <&_PREDICATE;&_RESULTS> substituted with
    <DB2_System_States.Status = 'ONLINE';>

      Provide a detailed step-by-step recreation procedure. See
    above.
