LO44294: IF YOU MAKE MISTAKE WITH USERNAME DURING SETUP, HAVE TO EXIT TO CONTINUE SETUP WITH ID VAULT

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • 1. Register a brand new NON-Roaming user with the ID in the
    vault and then run
    through client setup.
    2. Go to another machine - this machine has a clean install and
    no existing
    data.
    3. Launch the client again and click Next on the first setup
    dialog.
    4. In the next dialog type the users name incorrectly (I made a
    typo) but type
    in a valid Domino server name and click Next. Notice as expected
    you get the
    dialog: "User or server name not found in the Domino Directory".
     Click OK.
    5. Now correct the typo in the user name and click Next again.
    Notice that the
    ID is not pulled from the vault.  The user is instead prompted
    for the file.  I
    make mistakes all the time while typing.  Shouldn't the user be
    allowed to
    correct the typo and continue with setup? I had to click Cancel
    because I
    didn't have the id file on disk.  It was in the vault.
    

Local fix

  • Cancel the client setup and try again with the correct user
    information and the id is downloaded from the vault and the
    client setup continues.
